Default crazy idle...

hey i got a 95 vx hatch with a 95 gsr motor. everything seems to run good except recently whenever my car is cold, it idles around 2500-3000rpm for about 10min and occasionally jumps between 1000-3000 when warming up. anyone know what that might be coused from? also is it normal to get 25-30 mpg with a gsr motor? i have a stock fuel pump from the vx so would that be holding the fuel back? any information would be appriciated, thenks alot

i had the same problem , its the fitv (fast idle thermal valve ) located below the throttle body there are 3 10mm bolts 1 on top 2 on the bottom unbolt it and take it off . there should be two coolant lines u have to disconnect also .

once you have it off the end oposite where the coolant lines were there a plate on the end with 2 screws take the cover off and there will be a whitish screw in there . it needs to be tightened down all the way that will fix your idle when cold.

Yow can back it all the way out and remove that screw and clean everything with carb cleaner if you want but when u put it back together just make sure it tight .

Then just put everything back together its easier to put the coolant lines back on the fitv before you bolt it back on hope this helps if u need pics just search fitv
