Default CR-VTEC buildup help

Well looking at a few various options. I would like to keep the motor N/A but might possile consider turbo. But my question is...

What will I need? Whats a good aftermarket piston set (what compression ratio is good for N/A?) I want to use a B16 head - whats a good tranny to use, I was considering a JDM B16 hydro w/ LSD... good option? Just looking for a street beast not a 10 second car or anything.

Can I just take the head and strap it to the block, and hookup the oil line and run with it. Obviously im not going to be giving it the full potential, but do I really need to mess around with crank/pistons/rods/cams etc? LS manifold will work fine in a 5th gen hatch right? What about the header - best option? Thanks - CRVTEC is down which is why im asking here

This is exactly what i am doing

B16A2 head with the combustion chamber matched to the block.
Using my Skunk2 intake manifold. Crower cams, skunk2 valvesprings, valveguides, skunk 2 cam gears, Mugen Head gasket, skunk 2 valves.

Bottom end stock crank, stock bore Crower rods, and higher compression pistions i have no idea what brand or what compression.Moroso oil pan.
