convert JDM to USDM
Yes i did the search allready got a few things but some questionable ones aswell, i knoe a few people have done this and would like some input on this.... ASAP..
This next project is my 98 EK
JDM obd2 b18c so far i gathered this much:
questionables are
Oil pump CKF pulley/sensor?
coolant swtich?
vtec-pressure swtich?
facts:
USDM ecu
EGR valve
2ndary o2
96+ ex engine harness
Reason for this is i need a daily driver and not worry about emissions every yr and sohc just doesnt cut it, we dont have smog ref's or anything but obd2 cars get plugged instead of sniffer..
again i allready search and just need some inputs on parts list or any other things i may have missed and do not need ..... thanks
note: brothers forest green h22a 93cx was recently stolen 12/02/04 1-3am in charlotte, if anyone is around that area just heads up... thanks

Re: convert JDM to USDM (spooned out)
you will need to use the ckf, coolant switch, and vtec oil pressure sensor. if the motor does not have the vtop sensor then you need to swap out for one that has it and all motors jdm or usdm should have the coolant switch.
I would use a 98-99 usdm ecu and use a 98-99 usdm engine harness and add the appropriate sensors. you should not have to use a egr. secondary O2 should be there to begin with. you will either need to use a cat with the second O2 bung fitting if your car does not have it.

The JDM B18C 96+ uses a VTEC solenoid with a pressure switch, you can easily rewire around this to fool the ECU without having to switch the solenoid. If done correctly it will operate 100% CEL free with no side effects. If you choose to do that let me know and I can tell you how to do it, it's really easy.
You will need to change to a USDM OBD2 oil pump with CKF sensor.
You can use the 96-98 EX harness no problem, it will give you the best plug and play. You'll need to wire up the secondary O2 since the EX's have that wiring separate from the engine harness. If the motor is a GSR, you will also need to add the wiring for the IAB as well.
