CODE 6? need help!
Code 6: ECT - Engine Coolant Temp sensor --> Defective or unplugged.
Do you have it plugged in? This would certainly cause the light to come on.
Do you have a DMM? Take some measurements.
With sensor un-plugged:
@ ~0 Dgr F - should read ~15k ohms
@ ~175 Dgr F - should read ~400 ohms
With sensor plugged in and key 'on':
@ ~0 Dgr F - should read ~4.7V at the ECU
@ ~175 Dgr F - should read ~.80V at the ECU
A quick bit-o-info: The IAT and ECT are the same sensor and thus give similar readings at the same temperature. SO...in the morning, when the car has sat for sometime, you could go out and make these measurements on BOTH sensors and they should be about the same...kind of a sanity check.

also just check your connections. i just finished the swap in my car and i also got a 6. check all your connections and grounds, that usually gets overlooked.
