Code 5, Map Sensor, Running Rich. HELP!
OK. Ls Vtec swap, b16 head, b18a bottom end. Car idles at 2000 for a day straight. So i adjust idle and check oil. Oil is low and when I adjust idle the cars idle drops to a low and rough idle. Take it to the shop and they replace my fuel fowled plugs and coil. Also, they told me my cylinder placement sensor was bad so I replaced the OBD0 distributor...brand new. Now that it is done I drove the car and the CODE 9 that it was throwing is gone. However getting about 120 miles to a full tank and running very rich (black smoke). Timing is fully retarded due to the high compression CTR pistons. 3 hours of driving later the ECU throws a code 5 and the car changes from a low idle to a 1200 consisten smooth idle. ANY IDEAS ANYONE? I'm STUMPED. Vaccum lines are disconnected everywhere but have been since the swap, 2 years later i cant imagine it is the disconnected lines. HELP!

Re: Code 5, Map Sensor, Running Rich. HELP! (Qfactor)
im actually in San Luis Obispo California now because of school But thanks for the offer. I think i got everything running right. just making sure im not losing any oil now. I reran the vaccum to the right nipple and then it stopped throwing Code 5 which stopped the over fueling I believe. then we replaced the fast idle valve and changed the oil and everything seems to be going well. thanks again
