low idle on my ls vtec
i been having problems ever since i got my ls vtec started.
turned on that my ecu was fried q31 and my iacv was busted up.
so i bought a new iacv and borrowed my friend's p28 chipped and got it base map for my set up.
now my problem is that my idle is really low below 300 rpm and its running rich. my original fuel was 40 psi and low it down to 35 psi, but still no change of the idle. CEL code was 41 but my friend said he disabled it but still throwing.
anybody could help me out?? really want my car to run good asap.

Re: low idle on my ls vtec
code 41 is for heated oxygen sensor malfunction. it's most likely reading extremely lean when engine is rich, and it continues to pulse fuel. replace sensor and your idle should improve.

Re: low idle on my ls vtec
i started the car today and my idle was really low.. as i wait for the warm up 10-15mins
my idle change to around 700+ rpm.. i adjust the screw from my throttle body(sunk2 TB) but it doesn't change anything.. damn, i'm really confuse on this.. i was thinking of using stock inject and stock p28 ecu to break in the motor but i'm broke at this moment
any other suggestion??

Re: low idle on my ls vtec
i bought a brand new iacv and yes i did unplugged my iacv and tried adjusting the screw but NOTHING change..
but at the first warm up my idle was really low below 300- my idle wasn't not bouncing. so i waited 10-15mins for my car to warm up really good and my idle back up to 700+ rpm. i wanted to change my idle at close to 850 rpm.

Re: low idle on my ls vtec
update: i changed my map sensor because it had a crack and cleaned out my throttle body. my idle is still low but it was a little better than the usually. also i notice that whenever i started the car it stay at low idle as i wait for about 2second it goes up to 1100 rpm than after few seconds it stay an 500- rpm. as i press the gas it goes back to low idle again.. so i have no idea how to solve this problem..
anybody having this type of problem?? and i forgot to mention that code 41(o2 sensor, 17(VSS) is throwing codes and i have an exhaust leak. im gonna try to change my tps sensor tmw since i have extra.

Re: low idle on my ls vtec
does your tb utilize a FITV? it sounds like it's sticking/adjusted incorrectly. they seem to become open over time, but yours seem to be too far closed.
improper adjustment of an FITV can cause low cold idle and also bouncing idle when warm.
fix your CEL. if the o2 sensor or it's heater is malfunctioning, your car may be doing what your describing because of this code/sensor.

i'll look around if i have a good working o2 around the house. also i am using an aftermarket skunk2 throttle bode which it doesn't have the FITV.

Re: low idle on my ls vtec
still no luck. i change the tps, map, cleaned the TB, adjust the screw from TB and still dont do any change..
i was thinking of running stock injects and stock p28 while i break in the car and hope to get it tuned with hondata when i have the money.. any other things i could do to make my car run good?
