Well if you have the money to get one, I'd say go for it. They come in very handy for not only removing and installing engines, but for moving them around your garage. I wish I had one in my garage. The only bad thing I can think of is that it is bulky and takes up space to store it.

invest 2 bills on a folding hoist. you never know when you may need it again. if not, if you have a rental service company in town(rsc), you can go there.

its not a bad thing to own, but they arent very small, that's the only negative effect. If you have a large garage, then your straight. Honestly, if you plan on doing lots of motor work you'd be better off buying an engine stand and renting the cherry picker for the time that you need it.

i just bought one about 2 weeks ago and built it in less than an hour. i spent 130 including tax from pepboys. they had a sale. yeah its some off brand, but it was so cheap i couldn't resist. last week, i set the engine in the engine bay and i was very pleased of how well it worked.

The one ***** bought is great for only being like $100-150 bucks.

You can make about 40-50 per rental, since places charge 60 per day around here!

hmmm I dont really know what brand the one was that I used but it worked well. Just make sure the hydro pump is in great working condition, meaning lubed, not rusty, etc. Use a good chain!
