Check engine on a 95 civic
Hello all, was hopeing to finally find a forum where my problem could be answered. I have a 95 civic that I recently bought that has a b16a engine in it (not sure if its a 1 2 or 3 or just b16a) it has a pr3 ecu and the error code is 23. Which I'm assuming that it is the knock sensor. Only problem is I can't find a knock sensor on the engine and nobody
else can either(including three mechanics). I'm trying to find out if I can replace it with another ecu that will still run the vtec but not look for the knock sensor. Or if there is a way to disable the ecu from looking for the knock sensor.
P.S. CEL only comes on after vehicle warms up and when it does it feels like it loses most of its torque.

if the person did the swap before you, they could have just ignored wiring up the knock sensor. They would have had to run a wire from the ecu to the sensor. The sensor should be located by the oil filter. Actually above it i think, Its a 27mm. It should be a single wire.
Well theres a sensor above the oil filter that has a
red, and yellow/black (common ground) wires but nothing with a single wire that I can find. I found its a pr3 ecu.
Thanks for actually replying your the first on 6 different forums
