Default Cables for the H22a

Will the shifting cables from a 89 or 90 prelude work instead of the 93-96 cables that are traditionally used when swapping motors. I plan to put an H22a in my eg and the only cables I could find from a prelude (in my area) are on a older modle.
Thanks

Nope. Stick with 92+ Prelude shifter cables, or 92+ Accord cables as well. (The Accord SHIFTER assembly is a little taller)

okay, the closest salvage yard has that gen prelude so I thought I could try my luck...
Would the 90-93 accord cables work?

If I use the 92-95 cables with the 92-95 shifter assembly, can I use it on a 99 transmission? Is the 99 transmission and 92-95 the same? Thanks

Ok...you can use any 90-93 accord cables (i say 90-93 because there are tons of them in junkyard). Or 92-96 Prelude cables, and a lot of things can be swapped with preludes and accords. Just use the whole accord shifter assembly it'll work. + =

Yup. But like I said, the shifter will be a little taller than a Prelude shifter. But it all works the same.

You don't need the boot.

All you really need is the bottom bracket, the cables, and the shifter arm (attached to the bottom bracket).

On top of that you'll need 4 of the U clamp things. Forgot what they're called but two go on the shifter assembly, and two on the tranny. You guys know what I'm talkin about.

sounds good but I gotta work around 5:00 or 6. I guess I forgot about the accord when I called and was focused on prelude. I just called U-Fix-It-Honda and they have The intermediate shaft and entire Linkage I need, but I 'll see what Gene's has first before I order it.
Thanks for all the info guys
