A/C and P/S with H2B swap?

A/C and P/S with H2B swap?
Is there any way that p/s can be kept with a H2B swap? I've been searching and so far everyone says that you can't or to just do away with it. From what I have read, the F20B doesn't have p/s which is a bummer since that is what I originally wanted. Anyway, I live in Texas and it's either you freeze to death(winter) or burn to death(summer). Input is much appreciated.

well i've read that you will have to modify the hood a bit for clearance with the engine alone. No problem with that. For A/C, I can get the innovative brackets. As for P/S, correct me if I'm wrong, I'm going to need to use the the H22 pump and custom lines as well as a custom serpentine belt?

Yes you can run a/c. You are going to have to make custom a/c lines to fit. Because of the change in angle of the motor. You can go down to your local a/c shop to have them make them for you. Now your p/s is a different story. You are going to have to hack up your headlight and frame rail. just to get to fit and I don't mean alittle bit of hacking either. The f20b has the bolt holes to hook up p/s. It's the same cast as the h22.
The innovative a/c bracket works like a champ too. I had a/c in mine for a couple of months. I took it back out for winter and because I needed a new dryer and compressor. p/s is to much of a hack job for me to do. Just put in a manual rack.

rad. I just found out what is needed to run both A/C and P/S. Here it is for anyone interested...
quoted from EVIL-EK:
ac is a breeze. just order the bracket that uses your factory single cam pump. Power steering is a little tricky. You have to use a 97-01 prelude bracket and pump combo and I am not 100% sure but I think the EK ps line bolts up to that year pump.

Ive heard of that bracket being used for non-h2b, but I've yet to come across a picture of an H2B bay with p/s.
I am going to make every effort to manage this however by going serpentine and an extra idle pulley. Will let you know how I get on. Have to rebuild the H22A first

Re: A/C and P/S with H2B swap?
I would sure love to see someone attempt this and take there time to make it look clean. I did some measuring, if you move your crank pulley in a half inch and then make a p/s bracket that lines up with the crank pulley. You might not have to notch out your frame rail at all. It will be a very close fit but you'll still have to hack up your head light for sure. I do think you'll have to get a custom p/s line. Because the h2b sits the motor forward. The civic p/s line will come up short.
I think I'm going to give it a try. I have a cheap pair of black housing headlights. That I can cut up to see if it would work. As long as I dont have to cut my frame rail I'm down to give it a try.

H2B:F2B:
Evolution/Bisi has more clearance on the driver side frame rail then QSD Kit
If you ran say ESP 1/2" over alternator kit and Kaizen Speed Balanace Shaft Eliminator Kit and ran the spacer on the outside of the crank pulley...
There is a chance PS may work with factory H22 Pump and Bracket slotted 1/2" to passenger side. But this is just theory. I can't imagine the PS being that close to the headlight housing with the H2B even with the massive tilt but then again I have never done one of these abortions lol just teasin...
AC would not work in this case. Our Alternator Brackets work with PS but not AC.

I will let you know when I start my H2B project. Im going to build a custom ac bracket with alternator bracket to tensor the belt. I cannot live without A/C in north Ca.

Re: A/C and P/S with H2B swap?
I run p/s with my QSD h2b. I use a toyota MR2 electric pump. The pump is mounted using an installation kit from Karcepts. The kit bolts where the transmission side torque mount was. The system, alough noisy, functions just as good if not better than the oem belt driven system. I use the oem p/s rack, the supplied high pressure hose from karcepts, and the oem resevoir.
To use a prelude pump, you would have to cut out a large portion of the framerail and headlight housing. The electric setup is cut-free

Manual rack is just fine for me though, only time turning is a prob is when I'm at slow speeds on slicks with 8psi in them anyway.
