Default burning a quart in 30 miles....

alright i just got this car today and its an ls vtec w/jdm b16 pistons. the guy only built it a little over a year ago. well i drove it home and i was 2 quarts low after 70 miles. the engine couldnt possibly run with rings that were that bad...could it? just wondering if the pcv valce could be the culprit or what anyone things about this. oh yeah and the guy said he saw oil in the intake manifold when he took it off once.

yes your rings could be bad. it would stil run it would just run kinda shitty. try a compression and maybe a leakdown test. This would definetly be a good place to start.
