Yah the difference between h22 regular and h22 longblock is like the difference between regular and premium gas... the longblock is actually 5mm longer and thus creates a better rod/stroke ratio... with this honda is able to squeeze an extra 15hp out of the motor.
As for the B20, the B20V is the only b20 that comes with VTEC...
and yes it truely is B series, the only motor that isnt consider'd B series would be the B17 because original spec was for it to be V spec to compete with nissan.

Yes the B20Z/B is a B-series engine. I'm waiting to put one on my car now...still collecting parts!
It's similar to a B18B only with a wider powerband. Keep in mind if you are starting with D-series engine and want to swap it with a B20Z/B, you have to replace tranny, axles, shift linkage, clutch, flywheel...etc.

Sirhatchback,
What are you smoking? A regular H22A probably comes with motor tranny, ecu, and such. But a H22A longblock comes with just the motor - oil pan to valve cover.

Sirhatchback,
are you really serious? there was no b20v or any b20 with vtec from factory... The difference between a complete h22 and an h22 longblock is a complete h22 comes with motor/tranny/ecu while a longblock is just the motor with no tranny or ecu... It has nothing to do with the rod/stroke ratio... a b17 is considered a b series there is nothing like a v spec in honda.... geez, get your facts straight before you post
