The only difference would be the cr. If your keeping the stock pistons it would be better to get a b20z (if you can find one, i couldn't!). But if your gonna replace the pistons anyways then no differance at all.

Im running a JDM b20b...with stock pistons. Im convinced that the pistons ARNT the 8.8cr ones...the power my car is making right now feels AWSOME...I think they are the 9.6:1 (as hondamotorosonline told me when I bought the motor)...with my head (b16 milled .020) my compression should be in the 10.5 area.

do a lot of reasearch... use the search button. there are atleast 10-15 pages of ls/vtec and b20vtec in both archive & current topics.

PF3... I found a pic (very clear one) of a phk piston and the dish looked identical.

Edit:this is InfamousRS

The JDM B20B has 9.6:1 compression like the USDM B20Z.

so with a 60 thou milled head, im sitting on a 11.24:1 CR engine?!?!

lucky we got 98 octane (RON) at the pump!

(how come the C-Speed comp. calc. lists two B20 piston types - the 'p3f' and 'phk', both with different "Piston Dome Displacement")

i dont think there is any other way to compare the b20 blocks compression ratios besides the piston stamp.

it is the only defining feature when discussing compression ratios...

my pistons have p3f stamped on them = i have a 8.8:1 CR block.

this is my position, but if anyone can prove otherwise - i am listening!

what kinda power are you putting down btw? i have a usdm b20b and its for sure the 8.8 cr model.. im putting down like 112 hp where a b20z or jdm b20b should be in the 125-135 range

dont forget that even the higher cr piston still has a -4cc dome displacemnt... the lower cr model has a -9cc displacement so even if yours are dished they still can be the hogher cr model
