B20/VTEC question....plz
have 4 question:
1 - I do a driving bottom have a b16a2 and I want to put b20 but it is better a B20Z or a B20B? I know that the B20Z is VTEC thus the modification should be easier?
2 - with a head of B16A2, B20 it take 9000rpm without problem of breakage?
3- with would B20/vtec you use one gear box B16 or B20?
4- And which ECU is worth it to better use B16 or B20?
excuse me I know that there was several topic on this subject put the sentence are written so that the translator cannot decode them correctly and I do not manage to include/understand the sentences, therefore if you would have the kindness to make less possible fault I would be very grateful to you
excuse me for my English but I use a translator...

Re: B20/VTEC question....plz (Fabulous Vtec)
none of the B20's were VTEC
You can use any vtec head on a b20 block with modifications
you can use any B series gear box, B16, B18, etc.
you will need a vtec ecu to make the car run properly
don't take a b20 to 9000rpm unless its built to make power there, and is strong enough to take it there, a stock b20 bottom is not strong enough

Re: B20/VTEC question....plz (hondahans)
1. yes, they are right in that no B20 was ever made w/ vtec, but go for the b20z for its higher compression (9.6 vs. 8.8).
2. I would not take the motor pass 8k regularly if you want to keep it for a while, plus you probably will see peak power at 7-7.5k rpm w/ this motor anyways.
3. use the b16 gear box.
4. use the b16 ecu, but give it more fuel w/ a regulator, injectors...etc.
hope that helps
