IM actaully in the process right now. My goals were to get a bigger bore and in the future to boost. Now if you were going to boost, id suggest stickin with the b18, most likely because you'd want to resleeve it to 84-85mm and have a stronger block. The b18a/b is the block of choice most times because its dirt cheap, i just picked one up rebuilt for 200 bucks! A b20 on the other hand is a great motor if you plan on stayin n/a. If you plan on boosting the b20b is the better canidate out of the two B/Z because of the lower compression. If you stayin n/a and not going ot boost then go witht he b20, but just remember how week those sleeves are, because it is the b18a/b sleeve bored already! hope that helps ya out...latez

i run crvtec 2000 block with b16 head Im extremly happy with it, its in an 89 HF, and all i can say is its a torque monster. I dont even need to take it out to start hauling ***, just take it to 5500, and im crusin. But... if i ever feel the need, I have the option to take it out to 8k. Now people say blah blah blah, u cant rev a b20/ls bottom end, but I am, just fine for over 2k miles so far. When my **** breaks, it was still fun, so i dont really care. The reason why I went crvtec was because everyone said it was a unrealiable setup... I just wanted to find out how true rumors are. I did all the work myself execept for moving the dowl pins and pluging oil pressure for vtec.
I ground out my valve reliefs about 3-4mm to allow for ITR cams or skunk2 stage1 cams and slight cam gear adjustment. Compression is about 220 across all four cylinders with stock block and stock head (not milled) (approx 10:1)

If I were you, id find a GSR head, because it will give you almost .2 over a b16, plus it has GSR cams which are better then b16 cams, the downside is it costs more usually.
