Default b20 head on b16 block

hey guys i did a search and that didnt really come up with a definite answer. Has anyone done this? will it work i kinda looked at the gasket and it kinda matches. the only problem i see is the head pins they are on the opposite sides. I got these parts for free they were from a crvtec. tia!

you will be making close to no real power with that setup, plus i think there is an issue with the bowls of the head being too large for the 81mm bore of the b16.

No Point....a b16 head on a B20 block is what you want...and if you dont have money for a vtec head the money you are spending will be a waste....either get a b16 head for the b16 block i assume you have. Or sell the b16 block and but something else.

If you have the bits and it aint going to cost you do it for the hell of it!

What else do people do with the spare head and bottom end after building a B20VTEC ?

Cause it wouldn't be worth the assembly time and fitting time and gasket cost. A standard D series would kick it's ***

B20 and Ls heads are exactly same B20 combustion chamber is also 81mm. There is no use in this swap, would require blocking oil passages on block, would not make much power. Get vtec head or B20/ls block for a complete engine.

I a d series person, and know enough about them, but i dont about b series' just yet. I really want to turbo the b block whether it be a ls head or b16 head. if i were to get a b16 head would it be ok to run obd0 and have an external vtech switch? i havent looked into ths yet but the connectors look similar if not the same. the ecu i will use is an extra pr4 i have chipped for ghettodyne. that way i can reburn the fuel map and timming to run proper fuel and timming and wat not.

oh also just a question ive always had about vtec's, will vtech engage under part throttle at high rpm or only at wide open throttle?-for stock ecus- and with the msd switch, will it engage vtec at the set rpm no matter wat throttle position? thanks guys

Get a b16 head for the b16 block....vtec kicks in at the same rpms every time past or full throttle
