Default B18C5 in a 92 SI

Just dropped a B18C5 into my Civic Si and used the engine wiring harness from the B18 and the distributor. All connections hook up to my Si harness, but the engine won't start due to no spark. I used the helms manual to trobule shoot the distributor but all things check out ok. Any ideas?

Check your distributor. Something could be up with that...

Tach? If you compare the wire at the distributor...to that of a earlier...Teg...you will see that it's missing one wire for the Tach. U have you run one wire directly from the Distributor to your Tach. Question? Still don't get it? I'll tell you the color later tomorrow.

ok here is some more info. the ECU is a p28 that is rechipped, the distributor has been checked as per the Acura manual. there is no immobilizer it is from a 98 ITR, I have run the ECU in another car. The problem is that the car cranks over gets gas but has no spark, there are no check engine lights. someone mentioned that a OBD II distributor has problems running in a OBD I car & ECU.

What years did the ITR have immobilizer? It's got a transponder in the key that sends an "ok" message to the ECU right?

Thanks in advance for the info...

Aaron.

Thanks!

I've got a 1997 ITR (wrecked) that I'm swapping (everything) into an EG. Any other differences between 1997 and other year ITR's?

this happened to me, turned out the yard had pulled this plug on the right side (by the clutch master cylinder) the plug (harness) has a bunch of yellow wires (w blck stripes bundled together, if you pull that plug out you will not get spark, hell nothing will get 12v period. it took me 2 days to figure this out! but now i know what every wire in the engine bay does! this plug BRIDGES all those wires together. hope this helps

The cams. The 00-01 cams have more of a lift...better performance

Not sure what else. There is always the ITR forum..

well try this, open your distributor cap and check if theres any oil leakeage in there or check if its damp. usually on these motors the seals get so worn out and it leaks slowly. you might have to try someones distributor and see if it works.

what about plugs and plug wires? have you measured resistance on the plug wires? are you using new spark plugs?? yes, i know it sounds dumb but i've heard of quite a few people using the plugs that were in the motor when they got it..

checked cap and rotor as well? i saw you "checked distributor per helms".. not sure what all you did..
