For me to do this swap myself JDM B18C5 into my 2000 Hatch DX what would I need to know ahead of time and problems I may run into and what products extra's do I need just in case. I dun wanna pay $1000+ to a shop to install it I wanna do it myself and learn a alot more. Can anyone help please. or email me at iwant6utake9@hotmail.com

Start here and here. You will need the entire motor, ecu, axles and all. Then figure out what ecu you want to run. Then use the 99-00 si engine harness. Should be pie if you are mechanically inclined. If not, drive down to so cal, I will do it for $500.

 

You came to the right website bro. Just get you and some friends to do the swap, a lot better than a shop in my opinion.

 

And just so you know, if it's a JDM motor it's only a B18C. There is no JDM B18C5.

 

It would be a B18c Spec R if it's from Japan.

Either 96 Spec or 98 Spec.

 

Thankx guys and thank u jackson the site helped me out alot can't wait to get my motor and do my own swap. Alot of experience will be gained I will surely post pics when motor is in. I just need a motor jack and jack stands and big set of snap on tools lol. let the searching begin before I get motor.
