B18C1 Swap 98% Done - Three Questions (Pic Posted) - Need Help!
I'm almost finished swapping my 2000 GSR engine into my 98 LS but have a couple questions.
1. I swapped the engine, plugged in a P72 GSR ECU and the car turns over and runs no problem. The tachometer is not working. Any ideas? Anyone know where the tach gets its readings? Problem Solved
2. Is this plug vtec, knock sensor and the IAB wires (came with the 2000 GSR engine harness but have no where to plug it in on the 98 LS)? Problem Solved
If anyone can give me input, it would be greatly appeciated.
Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure about this but it kinda looks like the plug for the tranny speed sensor. I will look at my car tomorrow and let you know for sure. I know for sure that its not the vtec or knock sensor. Also, around what area is it located on the engine?

Re: B18C1 Swap 98% Done - Three Questions (mattssi)
Hey, i think i know what that is. My 99 civic had it. It plugs into the evap canister on the firewall(the black plastic bottle). I think its only on the 99-01 OBD2b integra's. If your canister doesn't have a place to plug it in, then don't worry about it. What year ecu are you running? That might make a difference.

Plug solved. Figured it out.
Any ideas on why my tachometer isn't working? Anyone know where the tach gets its readings?
Thanks for the input.

Blue is right. Anyone know which wire it is behind the cluster?

yeah, how'd you get the tach to work? are the blue wires from the dist to the gauge a direct connection? my tach stopped working too...
is there a way to check if the tach is busted aside from getting a new one and plugging it in?

The single blue wire from the distributor goes to the gauges directly but also go to other places in the vehicle. Only way I can see you testing if your gauge went dead is to test the tach lead behind the cluster and see if it is registering the acura specified voltage coming from the distributor. all you need is some electrical know how. hope this helps.
