B18C1 or B18C5????
What is the best swap for the price?i have found the c5 for 4400 shipped with a year warranty and i found the c1 for 3400 with the same ship. is the r motor really worth the extra money or can i still get the c1 runnin quick. i'm not going to be racing it at the track or buildin a race car, i just want some speed and i would want to be runnin around a low 13 if i do race.

they are basiclly the same thing..the same goals cna be obtained with them..here are the main differences...
type r has better valvetrain for higher revs...
type r tranny is way lower geared and will rap faster than gsr tranny..if you do all motor you want type r for sure...but gsr tranny is idle for boost...
and compression of coures...gsr is around 10:1 type r is quite higher...

If you have to pay $4400 for the C5 and $3400 for the C1, then $4400 for the C5 is by far the better deal. You are NOT going to make a C1 equal a C5 performance-wise for the extra $1000. Furthermore, there is the issue of the transmission. There is just no comparison between the C1 transmission and the C5 transmission. With the C5 transmission (even pre-1998), you are getting gear ratios that are FAR more performance-oriented. AND you are getting a factory LSD. Just the transmission alone makes the C5 a MUCH better deal than the price difference alone suggests. The ONLY way I would go C1 instead is if you can find one ALOT cheaper.

Everything is better about the ITR. Pistons, rods, crank, intake manifold, throttle body etc.

Same that seems like a fair price. Not amazingly cheap, but fair.

Re: B18C1 or B18C5???? (EGSR)
It depends what you want to do. you can do GSR Swap and put a Nasty Turbo on it or do all motor Type R, but if it was me I would do the B18C5 swap. and then put a little more Money in to New Head Gasket to lower compression and turbo it.
