b18c1 acceleration problem
codes are 20, 23 and 41 seems like there is lots of power when i accelerate gradually and it will go all the way to rev limiter, however when i step on it in any gear at any rpm its like ignition system shuts down until i let off the gas pedal i was advised when the swap was done that there was no knock sensor on my car, aswell this problem was occurring before the code came so i dont think it would retard the timing so much that it would do what its doing code 20 eld has been there forever and same with 41 02
changed plugs, wires, tried a different dizzy. i will note though that when i advance the timing it seems to not happen as much, but it still does

Re: b18c1 acceleration problem
have cleared the codes, i replaced my o2 sensor but that didnt work it needed a new one anyhow but i found out that someone had made a home made harness for the 02 sensor (4wire) but they had reversed the power wire, which in turn was not telling the ecu anything. after i rewired everything correctly only code coming up is eld. odly enough though the eld doesnt trip my check engine light. however the knock sensor does come on intermittently in higher rpms/ when vtec hits. aswelli was under the impression that the usdm b18c1 doesnt come with a knock sensor, (so i have been told) ive tried looking for it under the intake manifold but i see nothing where it supposed to be. is this true? and if so is it possible that i have a jdm ecu looking for a ks? i also discovered that the computer is searching for a automatic transmission which means i have the auto trans ecu aswell? i figured this out at a experts shop let me know what you think

Re: b18c1 acceleration problem
turns out the tps was sending negative voltages to the computer, i dont know why i didnt pick up on that FACE PALM anyway car is totally fixed besides installing a new knock sensor which was never there to begin with
