B18C and B18C5 differences
I was considering doing a B18C5 drop into my Civic, however I started wondering want the differences are between the C and the C5 engines. I know the obvious differences, like different compression, intake manifold, etc. However are there other little differences between the engines that would make the C5 ultimately a better choice. The reason I ask this is because before the engine would go into my car I would be going to town on it with a stroker kit; pistons, rods, valves, cams, the whole deal. So, because I would be doing all that stuff anyways is there any real benefit with spending the extra money on getting a B18C5. Or can I just get the cheaper B18C and get the same performance with a stroker kit as I would "stroking" a B18C5.
cost effective?...."C" please...no need for the "5"... specially since u'r spending a helllotta dough on a stroker kit....i was pondering wat u were pondering but i was enlightened by the hole in my wallet
Dude for one thing stroking is extremely expensive and not worth it. If I were you, here's what I'd do. Nobody strokes hondas they enlarge the bores, you get the same effect without having to sacrifice how many rpms to rev to.
Get a GSR engine, get it resleeved and have the cylinders bored out to 84mm with 12:1 compression pistons. That is one of the best n/a combos to go with.
