will a b18b dizzy work on a b18a i supposedly got a b18b dizzy today but it doesnt

B18B distributor =OBD1

not quite.

1990 - 1991 B18A Distributor = OBD0
1992 - 1993 B18A Distributor = OBD1
1994 - 1995 B18B Distributor = OBD1
1996 - 1999 B18B Distributor = OBD2A
2000 - 2001 B18B Distributor = OBD2B

sorry yeah i no the diff in obd 0, 1, 2. i meant as far as bolting to the head im putting a b18a in my eg hatch while go back thru my lsvtec

All B18A/B18B distributors bolt up the same Vtec B-series engines use a different bolt pattern though.

yeah i new the diff in vtec and non vtec i just wanted to make sure cause a buddy gave it to me but it wont bolt up to the b18a and i even tried it on one of the d series i had laying around didnt fit either
