B18B with b16 lsd tranny
Ive got a jdm b16 in my car right now, but i just picked up a b18b swap and im considering dropping the b18b in my 93 cx, and putting the jdm b16 lsd tranny on it. Ive researched and found that the b16s normally run better times then the b18b's (my civi ran a 14.6 with just the b16 and intake) but with I/H/E and the lsd b16 tranny would it feel as quick as my b16? In the future id probably go with nitrous too. Would it be smart of me to swap out my decently quick b16 for the b18b or will i regret it later?

Re: B18B with b16 lsd tranny (Gray EG)
Timeslips can vary with so many different variables, from track conditions, launch, traction, driver skill, weather, condition of motor, etc. Even though the LS motor doesn't have anymore power after 5500/6000 rpms, it still pulls very good when you have a B16 tranny on it, and the throttle response will be much better than the B16 with the larger displacement. It's a compromise.... better throttle response or a high revving motor. After driving both setups back to back, I'd take the B18 motor over the B16 motor w/B16 tranny, but that's my opinion.... everyone will have something different to say so it's just really a matter of what you really want.

i second that! Although the b18b does have some torque.
