Default b18(ls motor) VS h22 in 91 crx

I was just wondering if I could get some feedback on this. I know someone who I can get an H22 for a pretty decent price..... but I just need to know what else is I should need to complete the swap.... or if it is even a good idea to do so. If not, then would a b18 (ls motor) run pretty good in the crx? and how much money would I save going the b18 route. I will probably be building the car for nitrous.... and will be satisfied with hitting 12's. Any information that you can provide will help. Oh.... the crx already has a dseries motor in it.... if that helps. Just need to know what else I would need. Try not to bash on me..... I did look around here on the forums..... just want some fresh input. Thanks.

if you need to ask what you need to put the motor in, then the H is not for you. Not in that chassis anyways, the B swap in an ef is far easier.

Well as some are saying the H series hybrid would be a super amount of power. But you will spend a very big amount of money on modifying the engine bay of the ef trying to get the h22 in there. You could throw in the bseries (b18) and have alot more luck with that. I would go with whatever goals you have. Trust your gut. How much money do you want to spend? Goals? etc. Researching this topic is your best bet.

well after doing a little more research..... im actually more interested in throwing a b16 in there. this will just be my weekend/track car. ultimately i wanna build the car with nitrous and will be satisfied with hitting 12s.....11s if possible...... but 12s will do. would that be possible with a nitrous b16 in the crx? thanks for the feedback.

its possible to run alot faster than 12s with a nitroused b16, it just costs more

you will need custom radius rods and a del sol rad for the H22A swap..

I am planning on doing a small writeup on how to modify the engine bay for an h22a-ef tonight - look in the welding/fabrication forum. It will be what I think is the 'proper way' to modify the unibody.

some pictures i've seen lately have given me the heebie jeebies.. it HAS to be done right on a street car the first time (<u>which is pretty easy!</u>) or you will get cracks.

You can use the stock EF radiator with no problems...I also make custom H22 ef traction bar systems...The h22 swap can cost as low as $3500...a G less than a type r swap and more hp and tq out of the box

i couldn't get the alternator to fit without machining the bracket with an EF rad.

That could be possible, but in our kit includes a new alternator/tensioner kit that hugs the engine more and visibly better looking and not an eye sore like the factory cast iron piece.
