Default b18 to Del sol problems

hey guys,

not finding to much on the forums i decided to make a post about it.

I have a 93' Del Sol Si d16z6. deciding to make the switch to a B18 (not 100% on what tranny yet) I've come across a little issue that i need your insight for, i've searched the forums and found that 94 and up axles will work for the swap, what i need to know is do I need to get a halfshaft to go with the setup, or do those axles bypass the need for one? THANKS

Also on another note, feel free to give your opinion as to what tranny i should look to get.

You need to use axles from the 96-97 Del Sol VTEC (not Si) model. Or 94-01 Integra Manual Axles will work as well.

Do not forget, you will need a MANUAL Jack Shaft for a b-series engine. Any Del Sol VTEC, or Integra jack shaft will work as long as it is from a manual transmission (Automatic versions do not line up whatsoever)

Tranny selection is up to you. Integra LS will give u the best MPG, and worst Acceleration, GSR tranny will give a little better accel, a little worse MPG, and a B16 or Type-R trans will give you the best acceleration with the worst MPG. All of this is based off of a stock transmission without altered aftermarket gear ratios or final drives.

Also, with a B18, you have some choices as far as vtec or non vtec. Because you have an SI (D16Z6) I would recommend a vtec engine based on the face that you already have it wired. A for US engines, this would be the B18C1 (GSR) or B18C5 (Type-R). Japanese versions with Vtec will only be listed as B18C.

The B18A/B versions are non-vtec.

Axels w/ manual intermediate shaft...

94-95 del sol vtec (b16a3)
96-97 del sol vtec (b16a2)
99-00 civic si (b16a2)
94-01 integra (b18b1)

All those axels are the same (abs or non-abs doesnt matter)

You need a manual intermediate shalf...there are no axels that bypass it.

Can you elaborate what your talking about doing to a ls trans? Cause it doesnt really make much sense on swapping those particular gears or the final drive.
