Default B18 or B20 intake?

Hello my loves. Today, I finally picked up the b20 block that I have been wanting to bolt my B18 head to until I get the money to go B16a. He also had a B20 intake that he gave to me, because he didn't need it. I was wondering if I should just stick with my B18b intake, or if the B20z intake would have better flow, provided I can get it to clear my hood. Thanks in advance for your replies.

OEM intakes? All are pretty restrictive. I don't think it would make a difference. But if you have both then try them both.

The "doesn't say why" people are right. Is the b18b intake supposed to have better flow than the b20, or are you basing that simply off of what you did to yours? I'm quite aware of the clearance issue, and the fact that this intake is obd2, while I'm running obd1, but, all of that aside, which has better flow?

Most use the B18 intake as it fits. Alot of people who do B20 swaps dont have the coin to buy a new intake as they have to buy alot of other stuff to get the swap finished and working. This is why the B18 IM is preferred.

Im guilty of it too. Then when I had the means, I swapped it out for a S2/Blx unit. ( yes, I believe they are the same)

+1

These things are designed for economy and not performance. Use whatever u like then upgrade down the road if you need more performance.

Based on looking at them side by side, I'm gonna estimate that going with the P75 manifold over the b20 manifold will move the torque peak up 1000 rpm or so. I haven't measured either manifold to confirm how much. The phase shift of the torque peak would show an increase in power without actually changing the torque output of the motor, based on the way power is calculated. I also don't know what the volumetric flow differences are.

AFAIK the only b20 manifold that will fit under the hood is the later b20z, which has a big resonator box on top too. The p75 allows you to use common civic/integra intake systems.

If you need a p75, click my sig.

Much appreciated, man. I checked out your parts. Nice prices. Do you have any b series mounts?
