Default B16a2 head??

hey.......sorry for if this is another newb question

I know that the b16a2(ctr) is a destroked b18c(gsr) engine. But, what about the head?

I'v heard the b16a2 head is the besting flowing head out of the B series.... But is it the same head as the b18c5 and b16a1, but tweaked out? or is it just a b18c1 head that is tweaked out.

Also, you experts out there, am I correct in saying the usdm b18c5 head is the best flowing B series head, followed by the b16a1, and then the b18c1?

Thx a lot

Stock for stock, the b18c5 head is the best. The b16a heads are the same cast as the itr heads, with inferior vavles, valvesprings, lost motion assemblies no mild port from honda. Also, the b16b is a destroked b18c5, not the b16a2. The b16b head is the same as the b18c5 head.

B16A2 (7th gen. Si) B16B1 (CTR)

The B16B1/B18C5 have the best flow rates. This is because the CTR and ITR have both the highest compression rates from the factory, and the highest redline's...max.flow is needed through those head assembly's.......
However. The B16A2 head is a very good set up especially cost effective if you replace the original head internals with ITR/CTR or some after market head kits like the Jun stages I and II!!

AwWwW.. OMG stupid me

I meant the b16b1 not the b16a2 head..... sorry for the confusion.. didn't know what i was thinking!!

Wait.... i heard that the b16b1 was a destroked b18c1 with higher compression... am i mistaken?? If I am thanks for correcting me....

Thanks for correcting me, but question still remaines ... Is the b16b1 head the same cast as the b18c5 or the b18c1???

Wait.... the 7th gen si.... Is that the new Civic Si hach or is it the 2000-2001 Civic Si coupe??

Thx again..

I'm not too sure with Civic generations, but the B16A2(160hp) comes in the Del Sol VTEC(rare) and 99-00 Civic SI.

B16a, b16b and b18c5 are all the same cast. The b18c1 head is a totally different head.
