B16A into an EF (ED)? Smog legal in california? What is needed?
Now that I have another car and the EF is down due to oil pressure issue and I think the cylinder walls are about all scraped up, I am looking into putting the B16a into it.
I have read up on the swap and I know this:
Need the SIR ECU or Wire up for OBD-I (which I don't want to do)
Get the right axles to match up with the intermediate shaft and tranny (don't know which ones, but I guess depends on tranny).
Shift linkage (modified or a SIR or a modified integra 88-89 one? Kinda confused on that)
Mount kit (which one is good?)
Did I get pretty much all of it? I've done a sohc vtec swap in an EF, but never a B16A. Also, since this is a JDM motor and I live in California, I'm hearing mix feelings results from people saying it can't/can be smog legal when brought to a ref. I need to know if anyone here has gotten a carb sticker for theirs.
Is the swap pretty straight forward? TIA

It seems like you can use a JDM B16A as long as you are running USDM emissions gear. This means that you need to run the motor with a 1994-1995 intake manifold, 1994-1995 USDM P30 ECU, 1994-1995 distributer (a 1988-1991 won't work with the P30), four wire oxygen sensor, etc.
