B16A Into 92 Civic SI Problems
Alright we need quite a bit of help. We purchased a 1 Million series B16A to swap into a 92 Civic SI. The guy we bought the motor from had it in a OBD0 Accord. Here are the problems:
1. The transmission on the b16 is cable clutch, while the 92 is hydrolic. How do we convert cable to hydrolic?
2. the wiring harnes he gave us w/ the b16 does not match up to any of the main connectors in the car. Can we just use the harnes from the motor that was in it on the non- VTEC motor?
3. What wiring changes need to be done? We got a RPM switch for the VTEC, what else is needed?
4. What mounts need to be changed and where is the cheapest place to get them?
5. Where is the cheapest source for axles?
6. Will the ODB1 computer stock in the SI work with the B16? If not, what do I have to get?
Thats all for now, Im sure more problems will come up the further we get!

You have quite an undertaking on your hand. I hope you got a good deal on that motor.
1.Hasport hydro to cable conversion or buy a hydro tranny...probably should buy a hydro tranny.
2.You can re-wire the Si harness or get one from another company
3.I'm sure you have to add wires for the VTEC Solenoid, VTEC Pressure switch, Knock sensor (someone correct me if I am wrong on these!!!)
4.Hasport makes the best mounts for what you have...search the net
5.Your local parts store more than likely
6.You can use the OBD-1 Si ecu IF you get it chipped. Or just get a P30 ECU.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: DO A SEARCH!!!

Well my friend did a swap just like that...this is what he did as far as what you are dealing with...
he used his SI harness
I think you should just get the hydro tranny
he used the same ecu(for a few months then went skunk2 )
he bought aftermarket mounts from Arizona Racing Company
axles at a local store

stock harness, hydro tranny, you can use factory honda mounts you dont have to buy aftermarket motor mounts, cant rememeber specifically which ones. the car is an si, this means it is already wired for vtec, everything should plug right in.
