b16 problems at 115

Default b16 problems at 115

my buddy has a eg coupe witha b16 in it it was poorly swap by a dumbass in dalton it was done before he got it. It works ok but at 115 the check engine ligth comes on and we cant figure out why.

Any ideas

why the **** is he going 115 mph on a public road?

and did you ever think that it has a speed limiter? because of idiots like your friend?

they call it the idiot light for a reason, it might just be turning on to tell your friend to slow down before he kills someone.

and ill disrespect people all i want to jackass, ive had friends almost killed because of what your friend is doing. it is stupid to do that outside of a track enviornment, period.

and when i say pull the code, i dont mean look at the light. actually jump the service connector and look for a code. it could be stored, not current wich means the light is off but it is a malfunction.

Check the torque on the nut between the steering wheel and the seat. That nut will always give people problems especially while going 115.

well hmm number 1 the lites on due to the car going to fast for it to register - so slow down.. before he or u or some innocent mother n father die ******* - like my boys parents
ANYWAY if the lite is on at 115mph- dont shut the car off but stop the car, let it idle and check the scs near the kick panel... see what code pops out
and then slow down after you fix it

is he using a jdm ecu? only jdm ecu's have speed limiters. The problem is more than likely related to the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) If you vss is not working properly it will throw a code,
