Default B series in EF???

I am thinking about buying a EF for a project car, but I would like to put in a b series motor. Now every mounting kit that I have seen has made the motor realy forward in the engine bay. I was wondering what mounts you could use other than place racing...Also if it is possible that you can post pics of ur b series motors in ur ef would be realy appreciative....thanks

MAD mount kit
HASport mount kits
Place mount kits
HCP mount kits

Sorry no pictures, you could also reweld your mounts and position your motor where you want it.

I didnt use a kit, i cut and rewelded my mounts, used all 90-93 integra mounts and axles, here are the pics:

one of my FFriends just hybrid'd his 90 civic Si w/B16 and Hasport kit. That bolt in kit rules. The motor sits way perfect. You can use an EF-SiR shift linkage with it no problem and 90-93 integra axles. No binding at all like some of them first bolt-in kits that came out about 1-2 years ago. There is some minimal vibrations, but that due to the urethane durometer (hardness) they use within the bolt-in kits mounts...

I highly suggest this kit. Look into it!

i would recommend you buy one of the bolt in kits and not weld in the mounts due to the critical placement of the welded in mounts could be off i had the welded mounts in my (totaled) 91 CRX Si and I always wished i would have bought the mount kit

the welded in mounts are tough to get wrong. you'd have to be an idiot. i like the welded option much better than the place kit anyway. i find the hasport, hcp, and weld in to be all about the same as preference goes.

Go with the Hasport mounts. We have them in the shop truck and have used them in other cars without a problem.

I have seen three cars with the welded trans mount break.

Bad welds break, they didn't break just because they were welded, only because they were welded badly.

True....so why take a chance. What if I want to pull my b16 and put the stock motor back in it to sell it?

If you have doubts about keeping the B16 then get a mount kit. I'm only saying that a rewelded mount setup is just as viable and strong as a mount kit. Not that one is better than the other.

to help out jared--the frame of your car is welded together...so are the stock mounts-holders....they are all welds...like jared said, it just depends on the quality of the weld and the welder himself. hasport mounts are welded together also. so don't worry bout welding if you know a reputable welder/shop. i personally prefer the hasport kit coz its easier on me, and i don't really know a good welder i can trust....
