Actually, 2 and 3 wire IACV's came standard on the various 96-99 Civics, as indicated by my Helms.
2 wire : D16Y5, D16Y8, B16A2 w/ manual tranny
3 wire : D16Y5, D16Y8 w/ auto tranny & all D16Y7
And depending on the year and engine used, the ECU pinout are quite different.

well just so you know...
last night i replaced the one of my 1st gen b16 head with the one off of my 95 cx motor. It runs fine and bolted right up with no mods. The car runs better than ever. I guess my idle air control valve was really fubar'd. NOw the car has a better idle, throttle response, top-end, and lowend torque.
But I did look at a few other valves and saw that the one off of a b20b is completely different. The one off of a d16a1 is completely the same as the one off of the d15b. The one off of the b16 was a little larger, but the bolt pattern was the same and everything was there where it needed to be.
Thanks guys

Re: are b and d series eacv's the same (WAFFLES)
Ok, I'm having an idle problem with my motor. The cars wants to die/or dies when the clutch is pushed in when trying to come to stop or going into a turn. Anybody have any suggestion if this could be the IACV? My mechanic seems to think it is my idle speed motor.
I just got a new TPS. Could it have something to do with adjusting this?

I think you might want to go ahead and replace the iacv. It wont hurt anything. Also are you running a fpr? If so check the pressure and make sure it's not too low.

actualy i would think it might be a fuel pick up problem. if it dies or stumbles when you brake or turn hard the fuel pump my be loosing pressure. i have seen it before. do you have a fuel pressure gauge in your car. if not get one. and watch the pressure as you stop. if it drop below 20psi then you have a fuel pump problem. if not next is electrical

I have a FP gauge, but it's under the hood. I'm don't have a FP regulator. I'm running the Walbro fuel pump right now. I'll have to check on the fuel pressure and then make my way to the electrical.
