B!6a auto swap into auto 93 civic...
Will the auto jdm b16a swap bolt right in? Besides the ecu and the mounts what else will I need? Wiring?
Someone I know asked me to do this swap for him and I'm just trying to find out what it involves. I've done over 20 swaps including a couple auto to manuals so I just want to need to know about the little things.
thanks
KJ

I believe the auto b series motors have two seperate ecu's. One for the tranny and one for the motor. If that is true a major rewiring will be needed to get it to work. Many have asked and I have only seen one done before, a LS motor w/auto tranny in a 92-95 HB on ebay. So it has been done but you may be on your own finding out how hard it is.

I believe it is just an extra plug on both the civic interior harness and the auto ecu. At least that is how it is setup on 6th gens. I haven't looked at the car yet though. Anyone here done this swap... auto to auto

Re: B!6a auto swap into auto 93 civic... (hybrid_KJ)
still need help. Both the jdm auto b16a ecu and the stock 93 auto civic ecu has 3 plugs. I also have the ecu plugs and about 6 inches of wire for the jdm b16a ecu and all the wires and colors seem to match up with the exception of the lack of vtec wires. So the wiring looks like it will work out but I want to know for sure.
I still need to know if the motor will bolt in or if the mount bracket needs to be rewelded like an auto to manual swap in 5th gens.
Has anyone out ther done this swap personaly?

Re: B!6a auto swap into auto 93 civic... (hybrid_KJ)
i have done my 93 hatch...dx auto to ls auto....obd1. non-vtec though. i am positive i could get you where you want to go. it took me two months on my own to figure it out. you may find one or two other people that could help you because i only found one and it was a honda technician. you will have to wire in a tcm (tranny control module) in with the ecu. i can dig up the schematics. the actual wiring is not too hard...there's just a lot of wires. it doesn't bolt right in like the five speed swaps. i helped a guy out over the internet with a del sol who also did auto to auto with a ls. this was after i got mine working like it should. this guy too couldn't find anyone to help. i have since converted from auto to five speed after i busted the tranny with too much boost and racing. i.m. me or e-mail me at b18bhybrid@hotmail or aim sn 'kevlarkian'. i'd be glad to help. i still have most of the parts like the tcm...the half shaft is different than the manuals...a couple of other things. you don't have to reweld the upper tranny mount...just drill a hole...you do have to grind some of the mount though. contact me
-yeah you could reuse the stock shifter and cable btw.
