axle snap ring
I have an h22a eg and have no clue what axles I have. The problem is that the passenger-side axle pops out and causes the whole car to shudder during acceleration. I heard that I can modify the snap ring to give the axle a tighter fit so it wont pop out. Anyone know of an easy way to accomplish this?
Would the axle poping out cause a leak of motor oil in a manual transmission? It has to be oil because there is no transmission fluid.

Expanding the snap ring will work... not the best remedy but effective. Just use needle-nose pliers and expand the snap ring a little bit more, and then put it back into the tranny. When you're putting the joint in, it should be really tough to get in, which is what you want, so just tap it in with a rubber mallet or with a 2x4 board until it's all the way in. The best thing to use is the 92+ Prelude inner joint on the Integra axle since the input shaft (with splines) on the joint is longer than the Integra one, so the snap ring will clip into the appropriate spot, where as with the Integra joint, it's just in there holding the joint in by just that, and not really "snapped" into place. But it'll still work, as I've done so on my old hatchback and had taken it to both the drag strip and road course w/out any problems.
Oh, I did look at the axle spindle and it did look kinda short. I was also thinking that It shouldn't shudder if it slightly came out. What is the disadvantage of using the 92+prelude inner joint on an integra axle ?
