i have a 93 civic and swapped in a h23a1 prelude motor with the auto tranny. i have it all wired up and it's running great but i have no 1st gear. even in drive it starts in 2nd gear and it does shift while in drive. anyone have a clue what might be my problem? if you need more info please let me know and i'll try and help.

 

hmm it doesnt shift ...check the sensors that sense speed, like ur vehicle speed sensor, check all ur wiring for the tranny also just to make sure your probably just forgot to hook up something

ur map sensor hooked up? maybe it cant sense a load, hook up a scanner to the diagnostic port and see if any tranny codes come up.

 

i'll check out your suggestions tonight. i'm unable to use a scanner at the moment for lack of a cable. where exactly is the diagnostic port on a h23a1 wiring harness?
