In California, OBd2 cars MUST have OEM catalytic converters. Car Sounds OBD2 cat's are NOT CARRB approved. On the box it even says so. I have worked with Magnaflow cat's and the REF for OBD1 and you are fine. But when it comes to OBD2, you must use OEM or you will not pass.

thats weird because the website says:
CALIFORNIA COMPLIANT OBD-II
MagnaFlow's California 43000 Catalytic Converters are the first series of a new line of converters designed for use on vehicles equipped with Second Generation On-Board Diagnostic (OBDII) systems. They are designed, tested, and catalogued for specific vehicles. They are not traditional universal converters. These converters have higher efficiency than conventional strict California requirements for conversion efficiency and durability. These converters are warranted for 5 years or 50,000 miles on the converter body and 5 years on the performance of the internal catalyst, including replacement for OBDII diagnostic codes for low catalyst efficiency.

They say they are and on the box it has a sticker over that saying "not California compliant"
magnaflow originally said they were, Bureau Of Automotive Repair (BAR) disagree'd and basically told magnaflow that they are NOT legal in California on OBD2 CARS! Trucks are different. Its cars that they are not legal on. Trucks you can basically have ANY OBD2 cat and its fine.
I will take a picture of the box and where it says this.
