if you are running the b16, which cams are you using, have you been able to test on track which cams work best, im talking about stock compression, maybe a little higher, lets say half a point. also what track are you running the b16 on, a longer track with straightaway speeds in the high mph range, or smaller tight turning track, im not decided on which cams to run, b16 cams, or type R cams, but will the lower compression have an affect on the slower speeds of the pistons in the b16 relative to the type R cams?? someone must have tried the 2 cams on here, even on open track days, i dont care for peak hp here, i want that lower and mid range, thanks.

type R camshafts are desinged fo 'R'acing
arnet they?
see this graph, can you say "midrange"
BLUE LINE; 220.9 HP, 141.7 TQ =JUN 3
RED LINE; 208.3 HP, 141.1 TQ =Type-R
GREEN LINE; 215.2 HP, 135.6 TQ = Toda C
cant comment on the reliability of this data as i did not create it.
but is is useful to demonstrate the type R camshafts ability within the midrange..
hth,
t..
PS the type R cam is better than the b16a cam in ALL respects. (except price)

ps, its not on a b16, i believe thats on an ls/vtec, so, once again, useless. so im lookin for cams swapped from a b16, going from b16 cams straight to type r cams, including tuning, ive driven a b16 hatch with type r cams and the thing was useless from anywhere below 5000 rpm, not good for a road race car. anyone???

regardless of the type of track, you'll spend very little time in the low to mid range you speak of.
i run stock cams, and spend little time below vtec.
save your money and buy better tires, or go to a driving school. ask around in the roadracing forum, you'll get similar response.
