Default answer my quick question please

ok, I am getting a d16z6 motor from a 95' del sol and I have a d16y7 tranny out of a 97' civic. My question is this, will that motor and tranny set-up drop right into a 97' civic without any mods?

Yes but you will need to change the driver's side engine bracket and mount on the Z6 to a 96-00 bracket and mount. Other than that, the tranny will bolt to the motor and with the bracket/mount change, it'll drop right into the car.

Thank you very much. I have one more question, will the ecu from the 97' civic work or do I need to change the ecu to run this motor?

The best ECU to run would be an OBD1 P28, but you will need an OBD2 to OBD1 ECU adapter. What model is the 97 Civic? If it's an EX or has a 96-98 EX ECU then you could use it but you will have to add some extra wiring for the extra OBD2 sensors (2nd O2, Crank Fluctuation, etc.)
