Default ahgg, so many IAB wiring stories...

I read one post that refers specifically to my situation. Want some clarification tho.

1994 civic cx with a 1995 jdm b18c using a d16z6 harness.

The definate concensus is that you can use the IAB plug off the scrap gsr harness. Send the black/yel wire to a 12v switched source, and the other wire goes to A17 where it grounds (obd1 way).

I've got this extra unused plug from my d16 harness that plugged into the top of the d16 to some solenoid. The d15 has the same solenoid, my gsr does not. Is THAT the evap purge solenoid redsiding a A20? Do the jdms not have it or is it hiding. Is using this plug for my IABs, when i switch A17 with A20?

Usually they say switch the A17 with A20 when they are talking about b18c1's. They use the EVAP connector for the IAB switch the pins and screw the EVAP solenoid. i think

anybody?

Yes, on the D16Z6 harness, there is a wire for the EVAP purge which is to A17. If you can get that plug to reach the IAB plug, then you may use it. The othe wire goes to the Yel/Blk junction harness or the A25 pinout.

If that doesn't work, then keep the wire at A17, and ground the other wire to the thermostat ground.

thanks. The other wire on the d16 connector in question goes where? It goes to a25 or i should send it to a25?

You said i could send it to the thermostat ground. Doesn't it neeed a 12v switched source, for my obd1 setup?

ok, i traced one wire (the pink one) and it goes to A20. I'll switch that pinout with a17 for the IAB. The other wire does go to a25.

What is this a25. Is it a +12v. Or do i have to splice off to a 12v. Or do i have to ground it off, like poison says. Everyone else says it needs a +12v for the obd1 setup, poison says it needs to go to ground, which is it. And what is a25

thanks,

d

A25 is a +12v source, splice that "other" wire into it. OBD1 needs a negative trigger to make the IAB work where OBD2 needs a positive(12v) trigger to make it work. since the pink/blue wire is negative it grounds out at the ecu where the yellow/black wire is a positive wire it goes to A25. that's how the helms manual shows it on the diagram. I hope I didn't confuse anybody
