Re: ac removal ? (black-hatch)
its not very hard
1. in most states this is illegal to do, you can get a fine, but whatever if your at your house don't worry bout it
ok, first you need to loosen the bolts on the ac line(2) wrenches, crescent, loosen the nut, once its loose, you just have to pull on it and it will pop out, but being a newer car it will probably take about 5 mins. for it to completely spew out, on my 97 i loosend it (spewwww), shut the hood, not completely, just put it down, and went inside for 5 mins. came back and it was done, stinky ****, then remove on the lines going to the firewall, unplug the fan, unscrew one screw, pull the condeser out, (4) bolts 12mm or 14mm takes the compressor off, and pull it up and out, take the belt off, its kinda self explanatory, was your diggin in there, but one thing you do want to do, is once the lines are unscrewed at the firewall, wipe them out and plug them with something(rubber plugs). If you leave them open water will get in there, makes a mess.

Re: ac removal ? (black-hatch)
Ac and heat are two different things. To remove the ac you need to discharge the system, remove ac compressor, all the hard lines in the car, the ac evaporator under the dash, and other little brackets. Dont forget the ac radiator and fan. Warning, dont get pag oil on you or your car, that shti is nasty.

Re: ac removal ? (97hb)
Is Pag oil the crap that happens when Freon is exposed to air too quickly. Man did we have a mess one time. We use a shraeder valve removal tool to drain it quick, it looked like a bottle of shaving cream exploded on the car. It took at least an hour, 1 roll of paper towels, and a bottle of Fantastik to clean up.
