In order to swap an OBD0 first gen B16A with cable tranny into a 92+ Civic hydro chassis is almost pointless. A lot of people think just because the swap is cheap it's a good choice but really it will be as expensive or possibly more expensive than the second gen 16A hydro in the long run. You would need the HASport or equivalent hydro to cable kit or a hydro B tranny, OBD1 distributor, injectors and ECU and a few other things to make the swap work. If you were using just the longblock then you'd be in good shape but if you are spending $ on a full swap go with the second gen B16A hydro swap.

I just used the longblock. We picked it up complete with auto tranny & cut harness, but no ecu or axles, from a shop for $500. It was freshly imported. Ended up selling the B16A OBD-0 dizzy for $90, and the transmission for $300. So, we got a non-abused(came from an automatic), perfect condition longblock for $110 net cost. After it was installed, we checked compression and it's 205-210psi across all cyls.
Even after gathering up axles, OBD-1 sensors, and a tranny, the whole swap ran about $800 into a 93 Civic EX.
$800 vs. $2000? If you can be without your car, you'll learn a WHOLE lot and save some money. Don't get me wrong though, it's a DIFFICULT swap. When you get done with it, you'd be ready to take on any swap. The hardest part was piecing together the neccessary parts.
