Go to http://www.c-speedracing.com and look at a few of their tech articles, that will familiarize you a bit with the process. You need to remove a lot of stuff to pull a motor but it is easy in your scenario since you are dealing with two D series motors, and have both cars. Well, you need to swap over the motor/tranny and ECU. that is about it. And you will need to add a few wires for vtec to function on the '94 car. Also check out http://tech.hybridgarage.com/index.html and seartch around their site in the archives and stuff, very very helpful.

If you are asking about this, I am wondering how easily you will accomplish this simple task, but if you are patient and have enough time, plus help from a friend, this will be easy enough and a great way to learn a lot about your cars. Also a Cherrypicker akak motor hoist is required (sort of)... if you dont have one you can drop the swap below the car and raise the car up, the "Jersey Method" LOL, to make it all work, but I have never done it that way... heard it works just fine though.

good luck bro

Why? Does your CX have a 4 wire o2, or a single wire o2? Look on the harness that is on the strut tower, and if there is a org/wht, and org/blue wire on the firewall side of the harness, then you have vtec wired to the ecu, and all you need is the SI engine harness, and ecu to wire it!
