91 B18a1 with a 99 Si B16 head
I was just wondering my friend found a 91 b18a1 block and he was wanting to put his 99 si head on it, Will it work, and also will the tranny work, because i was thinking that the 91 was a cable tranny as to the 99 hydraulic, Please give me some info on this thanks.

Yes the head will work. You need to find an LS/VTEC conversion kit (look it up) and have some machine work done on the head (cheap).
As for the tranny, does he have a hydo tranny, or just the cable?

Re: 91 B18a1 with a 99 Si B16 head (CompressionFed)
Is this going in an Si civic or a 91 ls? If it's the Si
The cable tranny will work with a cable conversion kit from hasport.com ($199.00) but you will not get the full potential of the vtec head with the long geared ls tranny not to mention the fact that you have no lower front tranny mount bracket so every time you shift gears or start you have extra rocking from the engine, a definate PITA when in slow moving traffic or over speed bumps. I'd stick with a gsr or si tranny.
