Default 4g63 in eg6 :P I know what you guys are thinking...but advice please

OK my situation is that I am stuck with a complete running perfect 1992 Eclipse GST, and I got screwed over with the title....and its gonna cost alot to get the title fixed here in Alabama...I also have a 1992-3? 4 door dx.... I AM putting the 4g63 in the civic and am wondering if any of you guys have had experience with it...I know the A/C has to go and I know the main problem will be axles ( atleast to me)...Im hoping ( whixh is prolly FAR out) that the halfshafts will somehow fit. But the Shift linkage is gonna be pretty easy due to the cable, I am just gonna weld the whole box into the eg...But the mounts seem pretty easy to make-IM gonna go ahead nad make them all solid except the rear since it mounts pretty easy anyway...any advice would be helpful! thanks!

I understand this, I have a 99 si with a C5...I like hondas and all but I also have a car that i cant drive on the rode...and i have one that can...the eclipse has all the parts i need to do this swap...and notice how close the engines are made...mounts are all in almost the same place...and oh yea...that black hatch you sent pics of...its also AWD...and there is a blue one in Houston shooting 400HP numbers...AWD...imagine that in a little civic ...and alot of this I am doing is for the fun, gotta pull some numbers someway eh?

Yeah, the guy used the stock mount (DSM) and the stock civic body mount for the timing belt mount. It would be a cool swap, but in the end, it may not be worth the money you put in it. IF you do it, I would love to see it.

I say do it. people here think all hondas are like gods gift or something. your mounts and shifter shouldnt be hard, are you running the entire engine harness into the car? you may need to get custom axles made up (most likely). itll be some work but its definately doable. dont let all these ignorant honda ****'s say otherwise. most of them have 150whp b16a's........

so, so true. Hondas are damn near close to the bottom of the food chain. DSM are hard, what other motor could you pull 400whp from a stock block? and run them over and over again. If I had the spare cash I would love to do a project like this. I also like that you can get a short block for less than a G and the tranny are more than abundant too. I SAY DO IT.

I say go for it. That little civ would pull pretty hard with a 4g63. It's something different than swapping just another B16 or B18 in there. I would just like to see some pics when your done and maybe a little summary on how the swap went. Swaps like that really make u think of all the different possibilities out there. DO IT and deffinitly keep me posted on the progress.

and who the hell are you? i have many friends with DSM's and i think aside from the MR2 motor, it's the strongest factory I4 and yeah hondas are weak from the factory.. i say it's a bad idea only because it's two different companies..i personally am not a fan of swapping two diff. companies motors.. that's just MY opinion but to the thread creator why not go with an AWD 1G chassy?

just get the eclipse on the road, IF mitsu motors were supposed to be in hondas, Hasport would make mounts.

Uh...wrong. If enough people wanted them to make manufacturing them profitable, Hasport (or someone else) would make them. And I'm surprised that no one mentioned the strength of the stock VW 1.8t blocks. You can pull STUPID amounts of power out of those blocks stock.

And IDriveAHonda, rewsnaeht was right, your first post was kinda useless. The 4g63 swap into an eg6 seems easier than an H22 swap but I don't see many Honda guys dissing that idea. For those who believe in keeping it all Honda, that would mean no blingin wheels, no wing, no cf hood, etc. Just my humble opinion.

Good luck bro, a lot of people on here are still opposed to the thought of swapping a K20 into a EK. I love hondas, I love Nissans, I love DSMs, I love BMWs, I love a lot of cars, and when I see people flaming on him about how " honda motors are bulletproof "...I find it....very very funny. Good luck with your swap
