Default 4-wire O2 conversion

OK boys and girls...

I know my engine swap, B18C1 into 93 CX hatch, requires my O2 sensor to be converted from 2 wire to 4. But I have no clue what this requires, or how to do it...

I've tried the hybrid sites, and have found nothing. I've searched this site, and found nothing...

Help! Thanks!

you're gonna need to buy a 4 wire o2. theres some stock ones for sale in the classifieds forum. im just going to wrap mine in foil and stick it somewhere so i'll just buy a cheap $25 one and use that. no reason to pay more for a part that isnt even going to be in the exhaust

I actually want to use mine. It will be in the exhaust...

I just need to know how to hook it up to where it really works.

Thanks!

You NEED the 4 wire O2

Throw the 2 wire one away.

4 wire one adds a heater to bring the O2 up to proper operating temps sooner so the emissions will be better.

Your ecu is looking for that signal so you have to use the 4 wire with an OBDI or OBDII ecu.

I know I will have to buy a 4-wire O2 sensor.

My question is how to convert the Civic's 2-wire over to a 4-wire. Does the 4-wire simply plug into the plug for the 2-wire and magically work, or do I have to run more from the ECU to the 4-wire sensor to make it work.

I'm using the GSR harness, but I don't see a plug for the O2 sensor. I know it's in the back after the exhaust Y-pipe and before the cat.

Hello? I know everyone with a swap has had to figure it out...

Do I have to run more wires from the ECU to make th 4-wire O2 work?

Like I said, I'm using the stock GSR harness. I just want to kno what I have to do to the Civic chassis harness...

Thanks!

i am wiring mine right now. 95cx with a 95 b18c1. mine is a JDM so i had to use my stock harness so i am a little different. first of all, my car had a 1 wire o2 not a 2 wire. anyway, the wires should already be in your car harness, mine all were there already. my one wire for the stock o2 was there at D14, the one that goes to D22 was there because it is used for the IAT sensor as well. the wire to A6 was there even though nothing was connected to it, and the other wire goes to a 12V switched so that should be taken care of in your gsr harness. hope that helps.

no bro, we are talking about how to wire the 4 wire from the new engine into the car that came with a 1 wire. your new ecu will not funtion correctly with a 1 wire, you need to get a 4 wire.

Based on what I have heard, the dash harness of the CX already has the oxygen sensor wiring for the foure wire oxygen sensor. In fact, I have even heard that 1992-1993 model Civics already have VTEC wiring in the dash harness (but not the engine harness). If this is true, then all you need to do is plug in the B18C harness and you will have all the wiring there for the four wire oxygen sensor.

its true, the stock harness thats in the dash of a 92 cx already have the vtec wires, i'm not so sure about the o2 sensor(4 wire) though. Ok i know now that a stock 94-95 gsr "MOTOR" harness works, will a 92-95 ex/si "MOTOR" wire harness work?

dude, any harness will work with enough work. but i think that particular one will require very little extra wiring. so, ya, it will work great.

will a 92-95 ex/si "MOTOR" wire harness work?
yes, yes it will.

edit: you might need to lengthen a few wires. but it's easy.

thanks you guys. i fix it already. no more CEL. i bought a 92 ex wiring harness from the junk yard it was pretty much just a plug-in except for the alternator, speed sensor and plugs that connects to the injectors. i just rewired everything and its all ok now. thanks agian.

i'm using a 99 b16a2 head thats why the injectors were different
