2000 b16 changeover
this is going into 96 hatch. swap came with si engine harness and all the wires going through the firewall to ecu. will this work with the 2000 si ecu or should i get a 96-97 b16 delsol ecu and use my stock dx engine harness and just add wires.
good question.. I'd want to know as well.. but from what I believe the 96-97 del sol was obd-2 so I would presume it would plug up to the 96-98 harness..let's here from the experts

The 96-98 Civic's were are OBD2 and the 99-00 Civic's are OBD2B. You can run the entire 2000 Si setup in your car but you will need to reuse your stock engine harness and get an OBD2 to OBD2B adapter harness. You could get a 96-98 ECU to run the motor as well, but the main thing is you MUST reuse your stock engine harness and add the necessary wiring.

VTECvillain.thanks for the info.where would you suggest buying a conversion harness. also should i just get a obd2-obd2b harness or go obd2-obd1 harness and run a chipped ecu. where is a reputable place to buy a chipped ecu. thanks
JDMhondaparts.com has the adapters on sale for $169 pretty cheap
You could use the 96 harness in your car and add the VTEC wires in which case your 96-97 del sol ecu would plug up or you can use the 99 harness and use a 99 Si ecu.
To tell you now I would reccomend keeping your older wiring and using an older ecu with the plugs you already have........the 99 ecu's suck ***** and the older obd1 ecus are what you want to get anyway for tuning.
I am running my stock 99 DX harness with added VTEC wiring and a 99 CTR ecu which uses my stock plugs.....however I would much rather use an obd 1 ecu to tune better with my VAFC...for some reason the obd2 ecus dont respond as well to VAFC inputs and even vary between my CTR and Si ecu's on what changes are made .....
Your 96 harness also accepts integra ecu's as well so you can run a 97 JDM ITR ecu in there without an adaptor...just a thought.

so can i use all si wiring from engine through firewall to 00si ecu or just use all dx wiring+vtec wires and obd2-obd2b jumperharness and run 00 si ecu. prefer the easiest and cheapest way to do this. car is staying obd2 and cannot find 96-97 vtec delsol ecu.trying to do swap this weekend so any help is appreciated

No you can't use the 99-00 engine harness in the 96-98 chassis, it's not plug and play like people think. The plugs looks similar but they were changed slightly, that's the reason they distinguish OBD2 as 96-98 and OBD2B as 99-00 for the Civic's.

That's the most efficient way to do the swap. You could use a 96-98 EX harness which has the VTEC and knock sensor already wired in but that would just be more $. The 99-00 Si harness isn't going to work as you will see when you try plugging it in to the dash harness plug.
