2 engine swaps in one....or not
i currently have a eg6 with a uk spec b16a2 (no lsd) and a ef with uk spec d16a9. i am planning to turbo the eg and was thinking about putting in a b18c1 and a lsd tranny. i will then have a b16 engine and box but no alternator starter etc as these will still be on the eg6.
would i be better off using the b16a2 in my EF and buying the extra bits to get it to run?
trying to get a 1.8 with all the bits so i can use the 1.6 with its parts in the EF?
or selling my b16a2 and buying a complete conversion from wrote off crx/civic (EF) vtec (we get the twin cam vtec civics here) for about £500.
could anyone list all of the parts to do the vtec conversion to a d16a9 EF (or even direct me to a previous post-ive tried the search with no luck)
EF for work
EG for play
p.s. any decentish cheapish exhaust recomendations for my EF would be very welcome

just a thought. dont suppose the d16a9 tranny will fit to the b16a2 engine?
if not, would a b16a tranny mount to a b16a2?
are there many diferences between a b16a and a b16a2 (externally)

Uh d series trannies don't fit b series blocks. Of course a B16a tranny will fit on your b16a block. Difference between the b16a1 (non obd) and b16a2 is mostly obd related stuff. Oh yeah the b16a1 came with a cable tranny. Just get the tranny right for your chasis... EF = cable EG+ = hydro.

an b sereies tranny will bolt to any b series block, the d series tranny wont work on the b16a2, and no there are prolly not many differences externally besides wiring harness.

The 1st gen jdm b16 is easier for the EF, but you need to realize that there are difference's in the clutch disc between the 2 trannies. That is between the jdm 1st gen b16 and the 2nd gen and up b16's.

have fun putting a hydro in the EF,
ha ha ha
get a j1 or s1 and sell the hydro.
The swap should work. You can convert a obd2 to obd1 or 0 no problem. You will need a few things. Injectors, distro, ef harness. and alot more
