Default 2.75 exhaust 98 gsr to big?

recently got cat back system i think it is tsudo stainless mandrel but it is 2.75" piping. for right know only going with basic mods air intake 4-1 header. is the big exhaust going to make a big difference in bottom end power. i am on a budget after white trash thieves stole my old 95 ls i am lucky to afford another ride much less upgrades for now. first thing i noticed was power band is only on the top end on gsr i dont want to make it worse in the lower rpm range.

unless you're turbo, 2.75" is bigger than you'll need. there is no point in having an exhaust that is bigger than your header collector is.
