2.4 ivtec in a 98 prelude
Bought a 03 accord automatic and want to put the engine in a 98 prelude manual, possible?
Posted something previously because I thought it had the 3.2 but now and looking at it and was mistaken. Any thing helps. Thank you.

Also I believe the engine is a k series? K24a4. No idea what the tranny in the prelude is, I pick it up tomorrow. Any word on this would be appreciated.

No, I'm good on the mechanic but thanks. I thought the whole point of a forum was so people could ask questions??? I know a lot about engines. I'm more of a big block chevy kind of guy and don't know what engines and transmissions are interchangeable. That's all I'm asking. So if you could answer that question that would be awesome. I know now that the k series engine isn't going to work. The engine in it was h22a1 and I'm looking for a replacement, it tough trying find one here in alaska though. So I guess rewording my original post, what engine can i substitute for the h22 that will fit in a 98 prelude?
Thanks again

not sure which is more similar, or if either are close enough but the two kits below may give you a starting point.
mount kit for 93-96
mount kit for 94-97 accord
more research can be done here
you will need to use a manual transmission for the K24 if you decide to move ahead with the swap.
to make this type of swap worth it though i recommend doing lots more research on K-swaps as well as the other option of building the H22. A well planned build of the H22 would be more cost effective and powerful than the stock K24A4.

The question becomes; What's wrong with the engine currently in the Prelude? It has decent potential with a NA build, or assuming its in healthy condition, build a turbo kit for it and put a few psi of boost through it. K-series swaps tend to be expensive and on the whole.

Thats not the question the op is asking, if the op wants to swap in a k than so be it.
If its possible to swap a k in an 94-97 accord than it should be possible to do this in a prelude. It comes down to the wiring and funds to complete the swap.

Honestly I'm thinking of leaving it alone for now and turning my attention to replacing the engine in my 94 accord that has a blown motor.

Well, H22's and H23A Vtec engines are usually not too much on eBay. H23A vtec should drop right in and the ECU should handle it fine, assuming you swap over the crank-angle sensor and distributor. A wideband AFR gauge would ensure the computer is adding enough fuel to account for the extra displacement.

K swap preludes have been done. Actually its a pretty wicked car in the end. But this is for the real Gs. If you dont know what engine came in a prelude youre way outta your league talking k swaps.
H engines have plenty potential and bolt in direct.
